Thread Starter | And Now For Something Completely Different Believe it or not I use my Roland TD-10 for Synth bass. It's the brain module for the V-Drum set, but, not too suprisingly has some of Roland's best bass patches in its three "Instrument" channels intended to provide accompaniment. Each of the three channels has the same list of mediocre piano, organ, synths etc... but when you come to the basses, they're capable of producing, with the correct sound system, everything from a chest thumping punch to a disorienting fog. I like to mix slap bass with fretless for an initial string attack followed by the fretless' trademark delayed swell. a great combination. They are amittedely a little short on selection of instruments, as well as configurability. But on the other hand you get a kick ass drum machine/sequencer with it too. I also have a Kurzweil K2600XS that has some fine bass sounds. |
