| Lives for gear | Hiring Mics for Drum Kit
In a few weeks I'll be hiring some mics to record drums over a weekend... I've got a few in mind that i'll be using but i'd like to hear some suggestions from the sluts out there ![]() It's a fairly big kit, this is what i'll need to mic Kick (2 mics) Snr top snr bottom pic snr top pic snr bottom hats tom1 tom2 tom3 tom4 tom5 OH L OH R Rooms also has V drums but they'll be in thru DI Thanks |

By hiring do you mean renting or buying?

| "Hiring" down under means "renting" in Hollywood...... That's a lot of mics - Yikes! since you have the overheads and the rooms, I wouldn't bother with anything too fancy on the toms - SM57 or equivalent should be fine. If the room is good, something like TC30's on the overheads spaced out a way might be good (since you have all those other mics....). Hypercards on the cymbals if you have overheads too. Best to see what's available first - way too many ways to go here. -tINY |
