By the hour or by the song? How much does the the top engineer usually make a year around?

Yes,,,Sometimes By song By day By project(record) I differs ....everything is negotiable... EDIT: Oh and if you are lucky enough to mix on a project were points are available there are some points invovled for payment. Usually 1 |

a friend of mine just got hired by a major hip-hop label as a recording engineer and is making about 2,000 a week. Even though he's an amazing engineer, this is his first real engineering job aside from his past working at the studio for a few bux an hour.
