MicroClock with Analog only

I am considering getting my MOTU Traveler modded by Black Lion Audio, and I'm curious what the MicroClock would actually do for me if I am using only the analog XLR and 1/4" inputs and outputs to record via Firewire. Will the Microclock even do anything if I am using only 1 interface (Traveler) and am using analog ins and outs only?

I'm interested in this. I have a Black Lion moded 2408 MKIII (analog only). Also, is there any feedback on the microclock? I've seen only a small sampling.

Hey Amaysn'. I also have a modded 2408 MKIII ( analog ) with the new Microclock. It does make a difference ! Shoot me a PM. I can bring it by your spot so you can hear it in your own environment.

With the traveler slaved to the Microclock it will mainly effect your DA. Things will sound much fuller, detailed, and balanced. The difference can be subtle or dramatic depending on the quality of your converters. Even with the analog BLA mod on my 2408 MKIII, which already sounded very good, I can hear an enhancement to the sound that is giving me more balance, depth, width, detail, and fullness. It is clearly heard switching from the internal clock to Microclock. I've also got a Fireface 800, which also sounds good, but sounds even better when clocked from the Microclock. Again, the sound is a little wider with depth and balance. As a matter of fact, the combination of the Microclock and the BLA modded 2408 MKIII actually sounds better than the Firface 800 internally clocked or externally clocked to the Microclock - IMO. I also have a friend that has an HD3 rig with a Digi 192 interface. The 192 by itself sounds pretty good, but clocked to Microclock it's in another league. The sound became much fuller and vocals and instruments popped out of the speakers. My friend was truly amazed and will probably pick one up soon. Sorry for the long rant here but I think BLA has done a good job with this thing considering the price. I really do think it is better to try this out in your own environment rather than relying on samples posted on the web.

I'm interested in the Microclock, but I'm still needing to have one slave sync to word clock over SPDIF.

If a Motu 2408 MKIII is slaved to the Microclock's BNC word, what clock will be transmitted out of the 2408's BNC out and SPDIF out? Will it be a mirror of the Microclock's signal, the 2408's internal clock, or no clock at all?

If it is not a mirror of the Microclock's signal, is there anything that will convert a BNC signal to SPDIF? If there is, will it add jitter?
