Solid State Preamps???

I have got a Bellari RP583 and TL Audio 5050 so i got valve preamps covered.
But im looking for something a bit more transparent and more upfront for recording heavier stuff.

I wanna spend about £200 - £300 and get 4 preferably 8 channels on a solid state pre amp i have been looking into getting 2 SM PRO AUDIO TB202 has anyone used these or got any experience with them cos i cant find much information on them?? or also SM PRO AUDIO EP84???

I have always heard good stuff about RME units anyone use the RME QUADMIC i like this but could only stretch to buying one of these which would only give me 4 pre amps

or would i be better just getting a new audio interface with built in pre amps like the PRESONUS FIREPOD or MOTU 828?
I was gonna get a MOTU 424 PCI card so i can just plumb straight into the studios MOTU I/O24 that i work at with my own mac, but I think the desk sounds crappy there thats why i wanna get some new pre's

That's a very low pricepoint to get anything good. You probably should just get a cheap interface like the Onyx or Firepod if you needs lots of channels now.

Good solid state preamps are around the US$1000 per channel mark, less A/D.
