UK buying from US

hi Max

I'm planning to take advantage of the exchange rates and buy my next apogee from the US. I'm based in the UK.

If i have any tech issues with the unit where it would need to sent in for work would it be possible to have that organized in the UK?

Thanks for your advice,

Rene Coffey

All units are serviced in the country where they are purchased. If you buy in the US, you need to get the unit serviced in the US. On the other hand, if you purchase the unit in the UK, your benefits include local support and service from our UK distributor.

Thanks for the reply.

Is that the case once the unit is out of warranty too? Could I pay for service in the UK, in other words?

Also, regarding my UK purchased Trak 2; in the event that I relocate to do some work in the US, would I be required to return the unit to the UK should any servicing issues arise once I'm there?

Many thanks

Rene

Generally, yes, but if the unit is purchased out of the country, the distributor can choose not to service the unit.

If you are in the states for work and need service, you can just call us and we will take care of it, as long as the unit is properly registered.

Hi Max

Sorry to pick holes but those replies seem to be contradictory if you are in the US working with a Uk unit warranty service will be available ( I understand you are the manufacturer so hold ultimate responsibilty ) but not vice versa. I would have thought an Apogee customer could be working in several different countries throughout a year and should expect the same high standard of service in every one. As long as, as the man said the unit is properly registered.

To clarify, service is always available through Apogee directly. The local distributors, on the other hand, are not obligated to service units that were purchased outside their territory. So if you are in the US, it's easy, send it to us. If you are in the UK and you purchased in the US, you would have to send it to us or pay for service in the UK. If you are in Germany and purchased in the UK, you have the choice of sending the unit to the UK or Apogee directly, or paying the German distributor for service.

Now, if you are temporarily out of the country working for example, and your unit is registered and under warranty, we will take care of it in whatever fashion is most expeditious including asking the local distributor to handle it (in which case we will reimburse them). When you have Apogee gear that needs service, you are never left out in the cold, as long as you send in your registration, purchased from an authorized dealer/distributor, and have a valid serial number.

Hope that clears things up.
