Before I load 100's of Adobe Audition Files into Pro Tools for mixing....

Is there any advice I should heed before I load all of these tracks into Pro Tools for mixing? I'm mixing an album for some friends and I've never actually imported files from other recording software. They are just .wav files but I feel like i'm going to make some huge time consuming mistakes. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated. "Label everything" is a good place to start I guess.

you should be fine, hopefully the files were rendered down to all have the same starting position, that way you don't need to worry about lining each track to start at the right place for each song.

But yeah, other than labelling, there's nothing I can really think of.

Well, all of the .wav files were unreadable by Pro Tools, but apparently the 7.3.1cs3 update will fix that? Hopefully.

pt tools files

Its worrying that you say the files are unreadable by Pro Tools, assuming that they are 24bit...because if they are in fact 32 bit you are in trouble. In this case you will have to find software to convert them down to 24 bit.I believe you can do this in Logic but i might be wrong.

If that was the problem - they could be converted in CEP/Audition
