Clocking question? Digi,HEDD.D8B

I have a HEDD hooked up to a D8B..using the HEDD as a master clock. There is no clock in on my masterlink so I have it hooked up to the HEDD AES. The question I have is...I have audio passing in and out of my PT via adat opticals into the d8b. I don't have wordclock/superclock hooked to the adat bridges. Digi said that the optical pipes at short runs would be sufficient. This doesn't seem right. Anyone? Thanks,
Tim

No USD here. Been using my Hedd as a master clock hooked to D8B baypassiong the D8B master apogee clock. I guess I'd have to get a genex type distrobution box to get into PT via the adat 24 bridge...it only takes super clock......Also wondering if the size of the otical cables make a difference as well as quality.
