is the little labes std just a di box?

looking for a box to send a clean signal into ptle at the same time while tracking gtrz and the std looks like what i need but i have a di box.

is the std just a di box?

cant i just use my di box the same way i would use the std and save $130?

std = signal transmission device which means one can take a low level hi impedance signal (like a guitar), run it a distance through the studio cabling (XLR) and the plug it into an amp and have the amp react properly. The STD does have a split function so you could also record the "dry" as long as you have a hi-z input on your sound card or pre-amp. It is not a DI, Littlelabs also makes 2 excellent DI's and other products that can also function as DI's.

cant you plug a gtr into a di than take the hiz from the di into an amp head and take the di's xlr out and go into your soundcard/preamp thus obtaining the same thing?

I use it to run one guitar thru 2 Seperate amps.. Works great.. No signal loss
