suggestions for a dvd writer...mac....firewire?

Hi fellow DAW users. We're looking for a DVD writer for backing up PT sessions for clients. It'll live with an older g4 400 dedicated to doing back ups....Any suggestions/caveats that you can pass on would be helpful. Thanks!

Depending on your timescale this info might be worth bearing in mind:

Souped up SuperDrive
[MacUser] 15:44
Pioneer, manufacturer of Apple's SuperDrive, has announced a new double speed version of the CD and DVD writing device.

Successor to the DVR-A04, which Apple currently deploys in many of its Power Mac, iMac and eMac models, the DVR-A05 gives double writing speed across the range of DVD and CD media.

The higher speeds are achieved with a new writing pick-up and new laser driving technology. There is also a new liquid crystal tilt mechanism that enables better performance with unevenly thick or curved discs.

The drive will be available in November, with a retail price of around $299 (£190). It is not known whether Apple will be using the mechanism in future products.
