Flip me over and call me Sussie - but I do like the nomad strip - especialy on drums. Its very colorfull and it do make a huge impact on the sound - not at all subtle.Other than that - Im all outboard. |

My votes - Wave Arts - sounds very good, easy on the CPU, tweakable. Waves SSL - sounds amazing. Not as easy on the CPU, but the tradeoff is nearly worth it. So versatile, and it almost has mojo. Almost. |

I like ssl e channel on every track. it's a pretty flexible, simple compressor and a very good eq to sculpt out sounds. only downside is there is no dedicated de-esser section in it. -Brian |

| No, as I said it is being released this month. If you can, I suggest waiting so you can check it out for yourself... or you can be mad at yourself for being impatient and buying something else before it comes out.... None of the plugs on your list are remotely close. Although, I do like the Waves SSL channel.

I also believe it takes awhile for a good judgement of a plugin to settle into the masses. It doesn't matter what people say about it on the first track they use it with, it takes time and a variety of material to get to know it. Now obviously anyone's own judgement is best, but gearslutz still exists so we can bounce opinions around and find things out that we might not have noticed on our own. Since you and 1 or 2 others are the only ones that have used this plug and posted here I'd rather keep it off this list at least, until its available for purchase and until a number of people have tried, including myself if they happen to release a demo of it. Besides, we all know what you guys think of it, 100 times over. anyway, back to the topic. actually had another sort of question, where do you use channel strips as opposed to single use plugins? Does anyone actually instantiate their channels strips to every track and use as needed? Or just when you know you want a track to two to have both compression/eq etc.

I know you're kind hearted that you want people to have the best stuffs, but isn't it plugins are subjective? Some people prefer Waves SSL over the URS stuffs, and some the opposite. At the moment, you're praising something that isn't out for public yet, and I believe not all people will agree they're the best. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the CSPro, but at the mean time, let's get this thread continue without the CSPro. By the way, my favourite is Waves SSL E Channel, clean yet solid, let's not forget - channel strip isn't just comp and EQ, the E Channel GATE rules!!

I like participating in the polls, but honestly, the URS CSP's release is just around the corner and I havent seen this much hype for a channel strip plug-in since Waves SSL. A thread like this is just asking for the URS beta-testers to bum-rush. N8tron, you even said you seen it coming. So did I. I could go into what I use now and how I use it but I have a feeling that my points are going to go out of the window in a week or two. N8tron, I think your questions are sincere and legit, but the timing of it all keeps me from participating whole-heartedly.

That said, everybody is looking forward to CSPro including me, but your decision has nothing to do with this thread. There's nothing going on telling you to 'buy them now'. It's just a poll based on the list of what is available currently, and based on opinions of current users. However, if I'm going to buy a new strip if I don't have any, I'll wait for sure.
