best third party plugins for Logic Pro 7.2

looking for a nice AU compressor, EQ, and verb for use with Logic 7.2 and an Intel macbook pro.

the UAD-expander is tempting but $1000

other options:

-Waves musicians bundle II includes renEQ, renComp, and RenVox for $150

-wait for mcDsp to make AU

advice from Logic users would be most welcomed!

thanx,
bkp

Some ideas:

IK Multimedia's Total Effects Bundle (Amplitube 2, Ampeg SVX, Classik Studio Reverb, T-RackS Mastering Suite)
Or their Total Studio Bundle (which has all this and more) The verb options in the CSR are as good as they come in a plug.

Line 6 GearBox Gold Plug-In Bundle All kinds of great delays, verbs, EQs, compressors, etc. here. Not just an amp sim. Simply amazing.

Nomad Factory Studio Pro Bundle (or whichever combination of their plugs you need most). Some great options here.

I write AU plugins and have two compressors and some specialty EQ (a lowpass and highpass, most notably: see sig)

Happily, as far as reverbs (and a sort of broad-brush EQ) I can just give you some.

Also you should have a cabinet model for things like guitars or Rhodes,

and since it's Logic you get to have a sample delay which has negative delay settings if you want them (only possible on DAWs with latency compensation)

Have fun

What about the URS stuff ??

I rely on waves platinum for now. I've been tempted to get a UAD card, but I worry about what will happen when I upgrade my G5 and it's not compatible with the pci format ( I have pci x now ).

I'm loving logic.

Personally can't imagine life ITB without Vintage Warmer!

And

As much as people talk smack about Waves, they have a handul of tools (ren comp, L2, etc) that make it onto ALOT of albums!

i like the EQs in logic, not bad compared to 3rd party ones.
`still lookin for comp my self.

but waves stuff is good.

one thing i saw and im tryinig it now is to use several compressors in the same insert. 2 or 3 comps but with really low ratios. saw some producer in a conferenca do
this but havent tried it a lot.

one hting i like is the sidechain on logics compressor.

People smack Waves and for good reason....They're friggin thieves! The plugs though for me are essential. I've owned them since they only had 4 -L1, S1,Q10 and C1 and then bought each new one as it came out. This was before they started offering all the bundles except the main 4 so I had no upgrade path. At that time they were about the only useable plugs for Pro Tools and because they were under the waveshell they were the only ones that could share chips on the old farms. All that love over the years and they treated me like dirt so I tried to get along with out them. Couldn't do it so I had to go out and buy the f'n plugins all over again.

The plugins that seem to make it on every score I write are Vintage Warmer, Waves L1 and the Lin Mb and L2. They help create great contrasts - a little goes a long way. I hate the Waves update plan, but the plugs work great. I'm running the latest OS X but am using early version 5 and version 4 waves software without a problem ( dual 2.0 G5 with 4 gig ram).
(bang for your buck, get the Vintage Warmer - you won't regret it!)

Just purchase all Sony oxford (Sonnox) plugins as a bundle. The best mixing plugins and a reverb you can get as native plugins (imo).
