Good pre, great EQ. I've been using it on kick, snare and lead vox and have been very satisfied.

I just used a pair of 7602's for the first time this past weekend. A friend of mine let me borrow them while he' on tour. I guess for the money they're pretty good. But IMHO the pre's were just OK, but the EQ was very nice.

Same general view. OK pre and really nice EQ. Good DI also.

I checked one of those out at AES and they had it up against a Neve 1073 or 81 (don't remember). What I do remember is, I didn't hear any difference between the two. Even my studio partner who had just bought four channels of 1084's couldn't hear the difference. Now, this was done at a noisy AES show wearing headphones, so it wasn't a scientific test or anything, But we were both amazed at how close they sounded. Major thumbs up for Chameleon Labs thumbsup

| The dual preamp is on the water heading over now, will ship in about 3 weeks I hope. But on the dual EQ deal, the fact that the power supply juices 2 units tells me this isn't going to happen! War |

The pres are great big dirty if you want, eq's are great too. People say they are not as good because they don't look as cool in the rack. But I love my pair. The only real issues I have with the made in China thing is some of the components, I had to replace the output pots because of being scratchy, and have seen this on some other "china" made stuff but I still love em.

Exactly. Decent preamp, great EQ. We are on our 3rd one. The first one had noisy pots for the EQ to the point that I wanted to shoot myself. The second unit had a ton of random white noise. The 3rd one that was have now hums a little but it's by far the best one yet. Very nice for the $, but our vintech blows it away. Neil

I bought one and liked it enough that I bought another. Great Bang for the buck. Had good results with the DI on bass gtr. Plenty of gain for using my cheap ribbon mics (the eq helped a lot on them as well). I've been sending channels through the eq for mixdowns too. Does it sound like a Neve? How the hell should I know, I haven't used one! But, it's sound is a nice compliment to my API and Hardys. I don't know about a dual eq, but I've heard they have some other things they're working on. |

I like my 7602 a lot. I've a/b 'ed it to a 1073 at the studio, just because I didn't trust their comparison on the webpage. It held up pretty well. I walked away wishing I had a 1073, but it was nice nonetheless. The bottom end wasn't as ....... all there as the 1073, but it wasn't lacking either. Whatever that's worth. Well worth the money, though.

I have found it great to use as a line out to eq toms and kick especially, snare aint too bad either. On vocals ok but not as present and mix transparent and workable as say pacifica. On acoustic guitar-I tracked using pearlman tm1 and chameleons 1046 and portico comp, and ah-the sound is to die for. EQ is an awesome sledgehammer shaping tool for individual components like kick and toms (on overheads I use specks for more focused control). GJ Newcastle/OZ | |

The c.labs 7602 is awsome as a bass d.i...... It sits better than anything else i have used as a session bassist. |
