Budget MIDI Sound Module.

Hi there,

I'm doing some research for a friend of mine who's looking for a Small, affordable MIDI module with a varying degree of sounds. His only spec. is MIDI in and audio out. Pretty straight forward. He wants to buy new (maniac...) and is also looking for a shareware soft synth for PC.

Its a total minefield out there! Very hard to find a new hardware module in 2007 too...

thanks for any help offered.

Jim.

you can find midi modules that are reasonable >>>pgmusic.com
plus lots of midi help.
also look at the forte softsynth. info at the same site.
its a very interesting low cost product that a lot of midi users like.
youll see many threads on it at the site.

Buy a used Emu Proteus 1000 or 2000.
Or a used JV1080.
They are all workhorses.

Check out the roland boxes, such as a 2020.
