Thread Starter | Drum sample library....wishlist?
I'm thinking about putting together a acoustic drum sample library...mostly for myself, but possibly to sell as a lower cost alternative to what's out there. Just curious what people like, dislike, or feel is missing from current offerings such as BFD, strike, ezdrum, etc.... I'd be concentrating on realism...similar to BFD. I wouldn't be able to create a snazzy interface, but I'm thinking of creating a dedicated sampler for it with Max/MSP (compiled as a VST and/or RTAS plug-in)... A few things I'm thinking of so far: - Multiple mic options and many velocity layers - Close mic'd with separate control of OH blend of entire kit image - multiple room mic options... M/S, X/Y, blumlein, etc... - both processed and raw samples Obviously, these features aren't unique, just a baseline....I'm just curious what people feel is missing from current offerings... |
