Opinions on some outboard gear? Help me decide.

hi slutz

a local sound reinforcement company is cleaning out their basement.

Whats your opinion on the following gear and what is it worth?
Im also considering to buy and resell stuff.

Aphex Expressor, Compellor
TC 2240
BSS 402, 404
Demeter VTMP-2B
Lexicon PCM 60,81,91
Lex PCM 42
Drawmer DS201
Yamaha REV1,5,7
Yamaha S-REV1
Roland XV3080
TC M2000
Mackie HR824
Soundcraft Delta DLX, 24 chan

They re selling also lots of DBX compressors (160X,XT,166), Klark DN780 Reverb, Roland, Korg and Yamaha delays, Yamaha SPX 1000,990,90 etc
but they are asking way too much for it in my opinion.

Any input would be appreciated.

Oliver

I'd be interested in a couple of the items.

What is it worth?

What is it worth to you is more like it.

yeah i know. But what would you say is worth getting and whats the market value?
First of all, I want to get some good gear at a reasonable price for myself not for making some profit.
Unfortunately, I cannot buy all of them to try out and see what fits my needs best.
They are selling about 2000 items and Ive narrowed it down to the units mentioned above.

For example, I definately do not need another delay but the PCM42 has such a great reputation that it is hard to pass on it.
If I dont like it, for how much can I sell it?

What I need is a good reverb,so how does e.g. the SREV1 hold up against convolution reverbs of today?

On the other side, I can make some money with the BSS units. They go off on ebay over here for about 500-700 Euros. I can get them for 300,-.

Please share some opinions on quality and best uses of the gear and on their value.

Thanks.

My Recordings/Credits

Add a HDR and some editing software and you have a very nice studio set up there. It actually is similar to my set up. Buy it all.

I cannot have it all, Im afraid.

Perhaps, I should specify my needs:
I´m mainly doing Hip Hop, electronic music.

Which of the units would you prefer as main verb?
Which multi fx M2000 or PCM81?
How are the Mackie monitors compared to my Alesis Two´s?
etc.

What I have here (outboard only):

Console:
Tascam M2600

FX:
Yamaha D5000
Roland SDE2000
Ensoniq DP4+
Roland SRV330
Dynacord DRP15

Comps:
Joemeek SC2
Ridge Farm Boiler
Barth Dynaset
SSL Clone
NTP 179-120
Gates Solidstatesman
CBS Audimax
Valley Dynamite
ADR Superdynamic Limiter

Preamps:
Telefunken V672
Siemens V272
Altec 1589B

EQ:
Siemens W295b
Telefunken W695
ANT W695b, 696B

Im considering the TC 2240 for sidechain purposes but perhaps the inbuilt pre is good too?
Hows the Demeter?
Is the Soundcraft sonically much better than my Tascam?
Regarding comps Ive already covered my needs for VCA based devices, I think.

So, in conclusion Im looking for good FX and Pre mainly.

What do you recommend?
Thanks.

BTW, I just did some research on values.
I must admit Iam really surprised:
$1300 for a PCM42?
Last month a SREV1 went off for almost 2800 Euros in Germany!! WTF?
I think I can make some serious money here.
