PANNING AD LIB VOCALS.....

hey,
Im mixing a song and in the final choruse some alternate vocal fills come in while the lead is singing and Im wondering where to pan them......

I tried wide and it seems a bit weird.....
I panned them a little out from the lead and it seems to work ok, but what are some experiences people have here.....

I know, whatever works, but the fills need to take the spotlight without taking over the lead vocal.....
Anyhooo

You can try and combine the followings:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
if you have two voices A and B (which are not the lead)
- pan A left and B right and add a short reverb (try also with predelay) narrowed or mono in the centre
- pan A on the left, reverb(A) on the right, B on the right and reverb (B) on the left. Play with the pan of each element (dry, verb)
- A and B in the centre, reverb(A) on the left and reverb(B) on the right.
- eq and distortion/saturation (tubescreamer sometimes does the trick)
- chorus/modulation (sometimes just after disto)

Have fun
