Kool & the gang "Fresh" toms sound (mp3 inside)

Hello,

I'm mixing a kind of Disco thing and I want to get a real oldschool sound on my drums in the bridge, to start with, I replaced the kick by a 909 one and double the SD with the Linn drum SD one with a trigger and a gated reverb. For the Toms I really want to get the kool & the gang "Fresh" sound.
I just wanted to know how to get this 80's electro like toms sound.

What kind of reverb would you set, and Do you think there's an Eventide harmo' or other FX on it?
Do you think that these toms are made with Midi pads kits?
What FX could I use to make my toms more "electronic" and beatbox-like?
I don't find the way to get this Tom sound, please give me your ideas ;-)

Thank you in advance for your tips,

Best regards

Damian

Sounds like the old Simmons kit, check that out. DMX drum machine clap i think so might be the toms from that unit, can't be sure.
FX - AMS reverbs and washy AMS delays perhaps, they are quite '80s

ps- I know this ISN'T what they're using, However... those toms actually remind me of one of those cheapo Yamaha toy drum pads, just heavily effected.
...like they say, "better late than never"...
