SM7,,foam or no foam?

How many of you guys keep the regular foam filter on the sm7 for tracking?

I can't seem to get the damn thing off anyways.

No foam, but a pop filter.

You really got to pull on that plastic ring to get it off though...don't be afraid.

usually off, but stored with it on. and yes, with a pop screen if tracking vocals.
I use a key or screwdriver under the plastic ring to get it off.

Sounds better with the foam off ( for vocals and also guitar cab), I also always use a pop filter...

thanks for the help. small screw driver did the trick. I was able to wedge it underneath the plastic ring and then push it up and off easily.
