guitar pick ups

i play an '88 fender torando and am looking to get a new bridge pick up. i play a marshall jcm 900 and am just curious as to everybodys opinion. i dont want anything too dirty. nothing metal, or "hard rock." i play in a rock band but as far as tone i'm really not all about the whole mesa or h&k sound. i aspire as to when i have the money purchase a sunn amp of some sort, so i guess you could say thats the tone i ultimately long for. any help is greatly appreciated as i am pretty unknowledgable in this area. thanks!

p.s. - i realize the irony in this, as sunn is a pretty dirty amp. but i guess i'm not looking to get that kind of sound out of my guitar, let the amp do that work.

I've got a Fender Lonestar strat and it's got a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker in the bridge. I love it. It's relatively low output, but it still rips and has a very smooth sound. It was stock in the guitar and I believe was designed for the guitar. I'm not sure about that but I think that's what I read.

Another good boutique pickup - I have them in one of my guitars, can't say enough about them..

There's also Lindy Fralin, Joe Barden, etc.. lots of good ones to choose from these days.

Seymour Duncan "1978" humbucker. Lower output, originally designed for EVH, back in the day. Sounds almost like a single coil. Highly recommended.

+1 on the Bare Knuckle pickup suggestion. They rock. I'm not sure that they're worth what they cost, but they are very, very good.
