Thread Starter | those "workstation" furniture things.....
I am now one of those guys who doesn't own a console, so I'm looking for a piece of furniture to use as the centerpiece of my new room. The Z-555 from Quik-Lok looks like a possible option at the low end of the price range: http://www.quiklok.com/search_list.t...t_0_uid1=33175 Has anyone ever used one of these things? Or the similar Z-554? I'm asking because none of the stores in the LA area have one of these things for me to check out. They are all willing to order one for me, but I'd really prefer to see one up close before making the purchase. (a little web photo just isn't enough) Most of the big guitar stores have a large inventory of Quik-Lok products, but usually just the really inexpensive keyboard stands. And they'll have one or two of the big buck Argosy console furntiure type of desks as well. But after calling at least a dozen places this week, nobody has anything even close to the Z-555. The description and dimensions seem like they might work for me. Can anybody comment on these things? Thanks

Hi, I know it's been a while for this thread, but FWIW I got one Quiklok Z-555 for a couple of days, and I returned it right away. First, it was delivered with damages on the speaker shelfs, and second, it's absolutely not stable because of the "Z" feet. I put a studiologic VMK 188 keyboard and just my Imac 24", and the whole thing was moving back and forth everytime I would hit the keys (even gently). I never even dare to put my Adam speakers on the stand. Oh, and its also impossible to use the add-on shelfs on the main bar since it's just "cliping" on it without any attach... I was really disappointed and also scared for my gearz so I returned it and got reimboursed. For the price (quite low), it's rather hard to get an overall workstation, but I wouldn't definitely not recommend this Quiklok thing. It's made in China, that explains the price tag, but also the flaws. |
