Thread Starter | Overdubbing and riding the volume fader Overdubbing and riding the volume fader can raise a record to sublime! It is a great tool for placing expression marks in the lyrics to enhance the depth of the words and make the song shine: Hanson - Georgia (beautiful vocal overdub+gaining at 01:24) What's your thoughts about the impact of these two techniques? I think it works especially well when the vocals are well in tune, then it can really enhance the richness in the chords and harmonies and make the song beautiful. When you overdub the lyrics it can create resonance which sounds awesome if you are using a good sounding reverb that comes alive when you temporarily gain the track as in the sample above. |
