From what I hear they are the only available exact sonic clones of original Neve preamps. Not to say some haven't improved on the design since then.

From what I understand they have not "improved on the design at all". These units are made exactly as the they were back in the day and sound just as good. The 1081 rack unit is impressive (had the pleasure of using it over the summer).

I love my 1081s. If you can afford them you should have at least a pair.

I was referring to other manufactures improving the design while AMS Neve has left them untouched.
