Michael Jackson In the Studio

I was reading through the Bruce Swedien Q&A and there were a alot of questions about MJ in the studio... mic technique..blah ..blah..

I came across this video and since i cant post over at the Q&A...i thought i'd put it here...its very cool..... especially around 6:08...!

This clip has been used around here a ton of times.

Bruce Swedien didn't record We are The World it was Humberto Gatica at A&M recording studios.

Even better yet if you can get your hands on the entire making of the We Are the World HBO documentary. It gives you an even greater respect for Quincy Jones as a producer. Dealing with all of the prima donna's those weeks must have been hell.

Great vid! That microphone technique only works with someone who can sing! I was once in a studio where the producer tried to make the vocalist do that same technique. Only he couldn't sing and it sounded horrible!
