Any Suggestions? More Inputs Into API A2D...

So, I have this A2D with two balanced INs but I have 2 instruments and 1 mic that I need to run into for recording. I would like to be able to run my Omega 8 and my MPC 2500 along with my SM7 mic into the two inputs. Now, I tried running a patch bay into the balanced ins of the API but when the patch is made from the gear it sounds horribly weak. The Omega is unbalanced and the MPC and Mic are balanced. Also, I run the SPDIF out of the API into my SPDIF in on my audio interface. SO basically the API is my front end for my DAW.

This being said, all I have thought of is this...
  • (2) Whirlwind Combiner 2 to 1 Balanced - One combiner on each balanced in for the API so I can hook a stereo signal from the MPC and my SM7
  • Run the unbalanced Omega 8 signal directly into the API high impedance line level input and using the 2:1 and PAD for various control over the input signal.
BUT I ask of you, is there not a "cleaner" more efficient way of doing this? I am open to many suggestions even getting the Omega 8 balanced.

Do you have to track them simultaneously? I would midi up the Omega 8 and the MPC, and then solo each part and record one or two tracks at a time. Your DAW sequencer would keep all the parts synchronised.

The alternative would be some sort of mixer - which would be a damn shame to put inline with the API.

Best solution - buy two more A2D and sync them up, and use a multi digital input such as a Lynx AES16.
