Thread Starter | About the recorderman technique I've been trying that technique today and think it works well but would like to know how do you guys pan the mics. From the listener or from the drummer perspective? I did it from the drummer perspective but I guess both can work.. Also I like the fact that you get a good balance of the kit, but in a way it's not the most realistic representation of the kit as you don't hear the different elements in their respective positions (like you get with a spaced pair overhead). Anyway as my room isn't big and as I don't use tom mics it's quite appropriate to get a good overall balance. |
