What mic and look at the studio walls...

Does anyone know what mic this is, just curious?

As a side note this is one of my favorite acoustic guitarists, so unique and creative...

I'm also curious about the wood on the walls and if anyone here is using this type of acoustic treatment.

The mic looks like a Rode NT-4 and i would like to know where the studio is. It looks great.

McKee is an awesome player. Unlike a lot of the techno whiz virtuosos it feels like the technique is a vehicle for the music, not the other way around. Check him out on YouTube. He has some pieces on the harp guitar that are just awesome. That's the best accoustic guitarist since Kottke.

I am sitting in my studio practicing guitar and decided to take a break. This thread both makes me want to practice more and feel sorry for myself since 11 years of playing doesnt even put me on the same planet with this guy. One of the most inspiring guitar pieces I have seen in a long time. Technically excellent without sounding like just a chops wizard, beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing

After watching the Mckee video you posted, I had to visit iTunes and buy his music.

Beautiful. Soulful. Technically Proficient and Inspiring...

Another vote for an NT-4 but I believe I also hear the soundhole pickup blended as well (in the video).

Thanks again,

TJ

Go to YouTube and check this guy out. Nobody has blown me away like that for quite a while. Here's one on harp guitar.

Thanks guys I would have never guessed a Rode, I thought it was some esoteric mic.

At any rate, I've been using guitar to help write songs for some years so I know at least three chords maybe four : ) Andy is a very blessed person. I remember the first time I saw this clip it really blew me away, in fact it still does. I bought the cd from his site because I wanted the wav files. Great music, it really uplifts my mood and mellows me out at the same time.

That is some really awesome playing!
There is another guitarist named Justin King who has some videos up on YouTube who does this sort of thing as well - the two hand tapping style. He is really good too - y'all should definitely check him out too.

is one of my favs of his.

McKee seems a bit more soulful than King though but both are really great!
Thanks for posting this

Amazing.

I love the fact its not technique for technique sake; the tune is absolutley beautiful!
