| Low end shy on the ADAM P33A's Not hearing a lot down where I need to here that low end but I seriously miss that low end. I've tried boosting 2-4 db @ 150 on the back of the boxes but that isn't where I'm missing the low. Do people hear this with the SA3's as well???? I'm not dissing the monitors as they are very accurate and "real". Looking for some ideas. I've never had to use a sub in my room and tend to shy away from the idea. Thinking about installing some Hi-Fi speakers in the room to switch between. Again- mixing on these is hard but works very well as I can hear what I need to hear. I'm just out on the low low's. Chris

| Chris, Did you do any acoustic treatment on your room ? The frequency you are trying to give some extra dB's is definitely suspicious...

| Acoustic treatment is always a good idea. Other thing is position of the speakers in the room (and also the listening position). 10cm (4") can make night'n'day difference in the response. However in my almost completed room S3A deliver bass only so so. I have no problem hearing it (great), but at times I miss feeling it. When I had them in my former very small "room" very close, they did that feeling thing, but also bass response was all over the space, so I prefer it much as it is now, very flat (at least in my world). I was able to get it there with adding of ac. treatment and moving S3A around, it was an evolutionary thing, not 1 hour session. However KH O300D produced much happier bass without any effort. Ah... and that <150Hz control. I have it at +2dB just to add a bit weight. When there was more things got out of proportion without any benefit of bigger sounding bass (strange but true IME).

| I also own the P33A's and am in the same situation. I can hear the bass down there but just cant feel it. It took me a while to figure out the correct positioning and Im still not sure its exactly right. I use them horizontally and ended up switching them so that the bass woofer is on the outside and it helped some but kinda scewed the stereo image a bit. I really liked the way they sounded in the vertical position , the imaging was better but it put the bass woofer too high so that it shoots right over my head when seated in my listening position. Im currently saving $ to add a sub10 to my setup.

| do a frequency test of your room up to 300 Hz. the results may surprise (shock) you concerning dips in key low-frequency areas. Agreed- moving speakers 3 or 4 inches can make a huge difference, in getting them out of null zones. make sure your ears are not in those zones either! david |

| Thanks for all the replys!! The room is treated and has been great for 10 years now. In fact if anything there should be about a 2-3db boost around where I'm not feeling it. Anyway... I solved the problem today by installing some 20 year old Boston Acoustics in the control room and Voila!! Chest pounding bass that I can switch back and forth between and also let clients hear what things will sound like in their living rooms and everyone elses. I have had a set of Boston's out in the live room for years and clients always love to go out there and hear whats going on but for some reason I didn't think of doing this in the control room until yesterday. I did try and reposition the ADAM's vertically instead but had no better results. Anyway, Problem solved and back to work for me. Thanks to all, Chris
