I like the thumbnail pics. A lot of people dont know how to resize their attachments and it winds up being huge and making the thread hard to read.

How about an "auto resize" function? Something like >img src="whatever.jpg" width="300px" height="200px" alt="whatever">
Best would be to automatically get the viewers' screen resolution (Javascript? I'm not a Webslut, know nothing but some HTML).

I think thumbnails were also solution to the server strain that all these images (displayed also at times no one wanted to see them) made.

I like it, but time to time it is unpractical.

My only moan is about the size, 150kB for JPG, common let's rise it at least to 200kB, I'm constantly fighting with the quality and yes I hate lo-quality JPEG as much as low bitrate MP3.

If we're having a vote then I preferred the previous system. I thought it was miles better having the pics actually in the post. Bearing that in mind - if it's necessary to reduce server bandwidth, and it means GS is a bit more stable than it has been recently, then I learn to live with it.

Something around 350-400 pixels wide would be nice.

+1. I hate it when people post pictures more than 800 pixels wide, because I have to scroll, etc. It's a PITA.
I know some forums auto-size their pictures. I think the thumbnails are way too small, and opening the picture in a new window can be a PITA for a site this site.

Also agree the upload size should be 250K. I've also always had an issue with the picture file size on here.

Hi Jules,

I'm in agreement with Pan60 on this puppy..........it seems hard enough to post a picture.

I understand the thumbnail size will be increrased in the near future. And for those who have to open the image in a new window, get Firefox, which gives you the option to open all links in a new tab, unlike "internet crap explorer sucks big time 7".

I might be one of the only cats who likes the thumbnail thing. Having a new window popup is really quite nice and lets you focus on one image at a time. And then it's just ctrl-W or apple-W and the window is closed and you can click on the next thumb. Doesn't seem like a problem to me... seems tidier, infact... just my stupid opinion.

People seem to be buying larger computer monitors and with higher resolutions we can cram more stuff on our screen, so bigger thumbnails seems like a good idea to me.
