Hi

Thats a shame....
Loved thier synths
Still have the Microwave XT....

But i suppose there will be many other synth companies going bust to follow.
As the software synths take over.

Such a shame.

I recently got a Virus C and I can vouch for how much soft-synth ass it kicks. Now i wish I had bought a Waldorf just to lend support.

Well... actually I love my Virus. I hope Access and Clavia are secure. Novation stuff sucks so they can go under.

Just kidding.

Well yes the website is down, but I don't think that necessarily means they are "dead"..

Maybe this is a part of the transitional phase.. Maybe the whole comany/product will be acquired by TerraTec??

I believe MW XT is still @ version 2.33. I don't think there were any planned updates after that.

Check Yahoo groups under waldord XT. There is a fairy large community there.

Waldorf IS acquired by Terratec, they even had a press-release about it.
Still i don't think it's too good news for the future of Waldorf products.

Hi

Just found a News Bulletin on the Terratec web site
That they combined...

Quoted from their website............

NAMM 2004. Effective immediately, TerraTec Producer, TerraTec Electronic GmbH's division for professional audio production solutions, has extended its product range by forging an alliance with Waldorf AG. Henceforth, all upcoming Waldorf products will be marketed exclusively by TerraTec.

We will have to see what comes of it....

Yeah, me too. I just picked up a Virus C and it even kicks quite a few -hardware- synth's ass, too. The thing's HUGE and meaty.

Ahem... lets not get all alarmist Vartan. It was known at the Winter NAMM show that Waldorf was no longer able to send products to the USA (GSF Agency) due to "restructuring." I am in no way familiar with bankruptcy laws in Germany, but it was something along those lines. It hard to compete when Alesis, Korg and others market inexpensive synths that are manufactured in China! Waldorf was a small company like most in this business.
