| Gear addict | Yamaha 01x vs. Mackie Control Universal?
hey there! I've been looking into a control surface for some time now and was about to pull the trigger on a MCU, but at the last second remembered the Yamaha 01x can do control surface duties. Considering you can pretty much get an 01x for LESS than a new MCU, AND get all the digital mixing capability as well...is it a no brainer to go with the Yamaha to control my Digital Performer sessions? has anyone used the 01x mainly as a controller? any thoughts on it? I am sure the the MCU will have better control in the long run, but if one just needs the motorized faders to write automation better as well as some other minor features, can the Yamaha cut it? 01x vs. MCU - any thoughts appreciated!

Hi there, Well, the thing I've read about the Yamaha is the fact that it's MLan-based can be a pain in the well known ass. But... don't quote me on it, because I don't know the exact problems. That's where a fellow-slut will have to jump in... Succes! Milan |

I can't comment on a "vs" basis, but I have the MCU and it's great. I'm not sure you'll find many people here who have used both.

I have a dm-24 pulling mixing/controlling double duty. I'm going to upgrade soon 9 (probably a 4800). I love having big faders for control. |

Yeah, my info was pretty worthless to you but I didn't want you thinking that you were getting blown off.
