| I think they could be great little budget mixers / audio interfaces... however they are not real products yet. Most people here would want to try them first before speaking, based on Mackie's past history of promising the moon and handing out a lemon instead.

| I'm looking forward to hearing how they sound...I don't necessarily have too much hope for the preamps (you'd think they'd have learned by now not to claim that they have the "specs to prove" anything), but if the EQ and mix buss are a significant improvement over the current crop it could be a good thing. -Duardo |

| Hopefully they fixed the ribbon cable problems that plagued the VLZ series mixers. My 1642 was sent back 4 times for cable replacements in 4 years. After the last one, I replaced the board with a Soundcraft, and it'd be very hard for Mackie to get me to purchase another mixer from them. Just the language they've already used in starting to hype the new mixers makes me wary.

| mebe there is "some" hope for the new preamps. They seem to be releasing an 8 channel preamp/ad converter. Possibly the same preamp design as the new mixers? They wouldn't bother to rack 8 VLZ quality preamps would they?................would they?? ![]() |

| I'm woefully uninterested because Mackie now builds in China. Why displace those good workers in Washington state with subsistance wage workers in China? I reject the notion and the product. |

| grudge I agree who heartedly Plush! I feel the same way... however at this price point... who still makes their mixers in the USA? Mackie had to do it due to Behrringer, Soundcraft, Samson, even Yamaha (!) having small format mixer products made in China. People are buying these based on price. This is what happens when people buy based on price. What other mixers are there now at these price points that are still made in the USA or equivalent?

| Gee, and I would have though that the only reason socialism works is that it has capitalism to bail it out. |
