I bought this active ribbon mic and I can't get it to sound good. I've tried it on drums OH, el guitar, ac guitar, vocals. The sound I'm getting is muddy and dead sounding - like recording inside a pillow. It sounds really bad! The chain I'm using - R1 Active - Mindprint DTC (preamp) Anyone loving this mic? I'm thinking of removing the pop sheild filter inside the mic. I've read somewhere that it can help cheap ribbons to open up a bit. I have the AEA R84 which I love so I'm not a ribbon hater... Any feedback on this mic would be awesome before I start removing the foam inside the mic. Here is a link: http://www.goldenagemusic.com/golden...t/uk/index.htm Thanks!
