bus submixing

I have two alternative ($ is a factor) ideas for buss submixing ( drums , keys , guitars)- what do you prefer ?
Sending from Logic stereo track through paired Tg Channels (EQ) and then passing back to DAW through UAD compressor ( LA2A , Fairchild , 1176)
or Logic>>>>Tg2 >>>>Distressor or Fatso or TFPro P38>>>back to DAW.....
I need external colorisation ; both ways are good , which one is more versatile or significant?
