The 003 Is Out...

Looks pretty dang sleek, but what are the main differences from the 002?

Digi 002 VS Digi 003

Theres only about three main differences between the 002 and 003. The new features are word clock, second headphone output and aux input. They should have been on the first one really.

Hmm, i may have to set my sights on the 003 instead of buying the 002 and doing the BLM... It would almost maybe be cheaper... And I'd get the newest version of Pro-tools with it. This is all down the road a bit anyways...

Are the converters and pre's identical? Other than the fact that it has external clock, which should make some sonic improvement...

I would go out and hear one first. The pre's are supposed to be better and there are a couple of upgrades. Since it is the same price as the 002, it doesn't make sense to buy a 002, unless you find someone practically giving it away.

For all we know, the Black Lion mod may not be necessary. Then again, if there is a market for an improvement, they will likely explore the possibility.

"updated" but not necessarily improved?

For all those wanting to hot rod their 002 converter set-ups, I'm guessing the 003 isn't the way to go...
