Two Different Makes of Converters - How to Deal with Latency Difference?

Anyone out there using more than one make of converters with your rig?

I may be adding another make of converters to mine.

When I use the A/D, how do I deal with the differences in latency between the two makes of converters?

I`ve been trying to think up a solution for this as well since I`m going to be in the same boat soon. One way is to run a click track through both sets of converters at once and see how they match up in a DAW. If one is ahead or behind the other pull the tracks forward or backwards to meet the others.

I also think that converter companies list the latancie on their spec sheets but I`d try the first method to make sure.

Try to use all one make converter for say close drum mic's on a drum kit and use the other brand (if you have to) on room mic's so the time delay gets kinda 'lost'.

Or use the other brand on everything BUT drums...

That kinda works...

If using PT you could as the previous posted suggests and delay all earlier tracks by the required sample amout with TimeAdjuster plug in..

Micro timing stress - don't cha just LOVE it! grudge
