Water is pretty absorptive.
Can you build your studio underwater?

Seriously, Owen Corning 703 is what most people use.
705 is more absorptive but costs more.

I nuked a corner of my room with 703/705 and it is totally dead. You walk into the area and the sound is just sucked out. I spaced it out 2" from the walls/celing, and used 2" thick 703 on the walls and ceiling and 4" thick 705 on the corners (vertical and horizontal.) Covered it in burlap.

Thanks!

well if you have the space for 2 feet of absorbtion many absorber will do..
but for effectiveness.. id say BASOTECT for example will beat any wool per inch..
(its a foam from a german chemicals-company)

I believe rockwool is just as good. Thick and dense is what you're looking for. Perhaps some European Slutz can chime in and tell us where they got theirs?

Is rockwool so absorptive material that I won't need anything more ? ( I mean another material for another frequencies ... )

My room is c. 2.5x3,5x2 (I will take photos) , so I thought about buying one packet of rockwool (9m2 / 10 pieces) and hanging them around room ( especialy in corners ) in chains 10 cm from walls . What do you think ?

cheese : I very like cheese , but no now ... Europe seems to have problems with "listeria" ( infectious disease ) .. listeria was found inside some cheeses

I think you might wanna take this over to Ethan's acoustics forum. Here's a link to my thread on the forum, you can check out what I did to my place with the 703/705: http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthr...=0#Post1704070

Make sure you check out the sticky FAQ there too!

We had a "pfiesteria" scare in the Chesapeake bay about 10 years ago or so. It was basically attack of the zombie fish. Cleared up in a year or two, if I remember correctly. This too shall pass.

could you use water tanks in between your inner and outer wall as effective soundproofing? what kind of depth would be required between the two walls?

Rockwool is fine to use. The only thing about it is you would have to build a frame to keep it together.

Use rockwool 1m or more on all surfaces - including the floor.

You will have to build a wire-grate catwalk to the middle of the room.....

And don't forget the back of the door.
