I have a Beyer M260 ribbon mic that was moded by Steve Sank with an RCA-spec ribbon (thinner than stock). Do you think close-micing a snare with this mic is risky? I am not concerned about high hat wind bursts (I keep the high hat far enough away that its wind bursts should not reach the snare mic). Nor am I concerned with hitting the mic with my stick (I got good aim). I am worried that the high SPLs might F-up the ribbon.
