ART Pro VLA

I don't really like anything ART makes. However, I have never heard this piece. Anyone got any experience or opinions on this device?

Search through the forums. You'll find tons of people who enjoy the VLA (myself included).

I have both the original mpa and vla pro's that came out about 10 years ago or so. I've sold lot's of other gear during that time, but have always kept these two units. I usually use my Vintechs when tracking because of the nice eq and distressors for the comp side of things, but you can easily get great results with both ART units. I haven't heard/used the newer versions of these, but I'll assume they're basically the same. I think they'd still be a value at twice the price they go for.

i have 3 of those suckers....great piece...

i usually use mine on a drum bus, sometimes on overhead tracks...sometimes on vocals...sometimes as just an aux bus that is severly compressed...that i send various mix things to. i have even used it on the stereo bus on occassion and that sounds cool on the right material as well..(though the api 2500 is becoming my go-to stereo bus comp)

it has a really cool dark squishy sound that i just love...i have changed out the tubes to sovteks.

i am sure the argument could be made that it is not the most "hi-fidelity" piece of gear...but it sounds cool to me.

people always comment positively on my drum sounds positively....and the VLA is always there, and a big part of my sounds.

they are cheap enough to just buy and try out....maybe you will dig it.

good luck with it.
