Do you know this Harrison power amp (pics attached)

I've popped this open to fix a power switch that was causing some arcing and I relaised that while I like the way it sounds I know nothing about it.
The front says it's a "Harrison Information Technology ltd X-i 300 mos-fet high performance professional power amplifier." It was made in cambridge, England and the internal testing labels in it tell me it was made in 1988.

Any knowledge or guesses out there?

Yes. I'd used 8 of them when I was touring with my former band back in 1993, for monitors and PAs. A small setup with JBL 4680s and 4692s, some wedges etc.

They were alright. Not as good as Amcrons of the day but still alright sounding workhorses. Not for studio use, though. Live applications only. Not fast enough for studio.

If I recall correctly they went out of business a while ago, but I may also be full of shit. Haven't dealt with live sound for bloody ages.

Yes I know these amps well. more common in Broadcast - think the Beeb had them and a couple of stations/networks I worked for did too.
Still have an X150 hooked up to a pair of Rogers LS3/a - sounds pretty good for solid state. The X300s were often seen hooked to larger Tannoys like the LGM (Little Gold Monitors).
Decent SS amps - as I remember they used to blow a certain component which I forget these days but mine's been stable for 10yrs now.

Couldn't really see them being reliable in a live sound app.

And yea - the company no longer exists.
