Prince was AWESOME! No lip synching, no autotune! I'm thrilled young audiences got a taste of what true musical talent is all about...let's get back to singing and playing instruments...(I know he's rapped from time to time...but not for lack of other legitimate musical talents).

You know he was also a great sport when the networks asked him to play only his biggest selling hits (other than 1 tune...maybe a new one?...didn't recognize it).

Billy Joel, however, singing the National Anthem;

I believe whoever was running the main board slipped in the Auto Tune plug (or hardware), in an auto setting that DID NOT WORK WELL!

I heard it almost compltely doing the "Cher" thing on tiny passages, as it would do when in the hands of someone with no pitch detection skills or just plain lazy and set & forget in auto mode.

I also heard this on the last Country Music Awards telecast...I believe it was so poorly used...someone just picked auto mode in ONE KEY for the whole show!

Can anyone else chime in on this and let me know if they heard what I'm almost positive I heard?

Other than that, Billy only had one clunker at the beginning and then was OK. I'm sure he had no idea someone threw Auto tune in there...he doesn't strike me as someone who'd be on board for that kind of trickery.

Now, seriously, LETS GO JETS!!!
