| Pro tools won`t recognize Projectmix i/o. For the last three days now I have been trying to get my Project mix I/O to load using Protools M-powered on my Mac pro laptop. My set-up is as follows. Laptop to Glyph external hard drive to the PMIO. It`s been working for six months like this with no problems until now. I`ve swapped firewire cables, connected it straight to the computer, taken it to the music store that I got it from and exchanged it. Still no go. Then i did the troubleshooting steps that I read about ( repair Permissions etc) Then it was re - install my OSX 1.4.6 operating system and then I went on the M-audio site to get the latest up-date for the PMIO. I`m at a loss and have two sessions this week as well as having two other records that I`m in the middle of mixing. If i could pin point where the problem lies, be it the PMIO, the Glyph, the Mac Pro it may help. Has anyone else had a problem like this? |

| The glyph is working fine as far as I can tell. Tomorrow I`m going to hook it and the PMIO up to my other computer and see if they function with Pro-Tools loaded. If not it may be my laptop....... |

| I had a heck of a time getting my system rolling. First of all make sure File Vault is turned off. ProTools does not like File Vault. Even though you MUST connect the F/W cables while everything is off, your PMIO must be on before you lauch ProTools. If you get PT M-Powered started up, then go to the ProTools Setup menu ( upper left ) Peripherals and The midi controller butten, then select. HUI You system should pre congure for your PMIO from there. Follow the PMIO .pdg for setting up your PMIO in ProTools mode. Then......... Double check System Preferences/Sound options to make sure your I/O's are set the way you want them.

| Is your firewire port working correctly?
