| Lives for gear | Kurzweil Rumour and Mangler Have anyone tried those units? I'm thinking about geting the Mangler to use the reverb and other FX, and later geting the Rumour for verb only (or any other good reverb unit at this price point). How does the Mangler compare to the M-One XL? Thanks! |

| Don't know, But the Rumour came out favourable in a direct (blind) A/B/C test with a lexicon PCM90 and a TC M3000. Three people (including me) present in the room, unanimous decision .Funny, I tnink if the Rumour would cost $1000-1500 I think more people would consider it Greetings, Dirk

| I find the TC reverbs tend toward bland and one color, but that's just a personal opinion. And I do own an M2000 and M3000, so I can appreciate their good qualities too! As far as the Mangler to M-One XL comparison, that's kind of apples and oranges. A more true comparison would be the Rumour to the M-One XL, as both those specialize in reverb. But in comparing the Mangler to the M-One, you'll find the Mangler has *far* more in the way of effects like filters, distortion, rotary/tremolo, chorus, delay, and on and on. The M-One is pretty much a strictly tame reverb box. Other than the Laserverb, which has it's own fx category in the Mangler, all the other reverbs are part of other effects, and are less programmable than their counterparts in the Rumour. If you are looking for reverb, go with the Rumour. And one fo the main differences between the Rumour and M-One to me is that the Rumour has a *far* wider palette of sounds than the TC box. TC effects that I've heard always seem to a certain sameness to them. In the Rumour, you'll find a much wider variety of reverb algorithms to play with. Robert, as far as the Kurzweil boxes taking over a track, I know what you mean by that in general, but I haven't felt that way about these boxes. They seem to sit okay with me. But I do have a PCM-91 as well, and that's working for me too, so perhaps we just hear things a little differently. I did sell my Line 6 Echo Pro a while back for that exact reason, I couldn't get it to sit right, it either got swallowed up or took over. Others have told me they don't have that problem with that box though, so there might be other factors like the style of music, style of mixing, etc. I love the Rumour and Mangler, and have both. I like them so much I'm considering moving up to the KSP8 as a matter of fact. |

| Lives for gear | Sorry, I thought the M-One XL was an evolution from the regular M-One which is a multi-effect right? |
