| Any Drumagog Power Users out there? I've been trying to use drumagog on some composit tracks of toms. For some inexplicable reason it didn't come with any multi sample groups of toms. There are plenty for kick, snare and hat. But not one for toms. So I've been trying to build my own set. But the manual is dreadful at explaining how this is done. Through trial, error and LOTS of wasted time, I've figured out how to get a multi sample set constructed. But I still can't figure out how to get these sets into groups aand how to randomize the triggers between groups. Can anybody here talk me through the process step by step? |

| i'm not sure how it compares... Drumagog is one of the three plugins i use. I mean it's got everything I've ever needed in a drum replacer... Good quality multi samples, wet/dry mix output, and an easy interface for setting the replacing. It's pretty much set in and forget it with me. There are tricks for different things but it's really is almost set it and forget it... It takes maybe 5 minutes to setup both kick and snare samples... That's all i have ever used it for |

Keyplayer: Dude, GET IT! If I didn't buy a program because the manual sucked, I wouldn't own anything but analog RTR decks! This thing is great right out of the box for single drums. It's just got an annoying learning curve for building groups. I'm not having any trouble loading in my own samples and turning them into ".gog" files. That's really easy. In fact most of this stuff is really easy, ONCE YOU FIGURE OUT THE PROCESS. I have now figured out how to enter groups of my own (you have to go in through the program folders and construct them there.) and I've pretty much worked out how to get the ".gog" files to group into multi samples as well (same procedure. Go to the program files, open up the folders, copy the clips from each folder you want into the new patch that you're writing and then save it under a new name.). I just wish they'd put that information in the manual. It would've saved me 2 days of fumbling around.

Are you having trouble putting the samples into dynamic groups or positional groups?

| Bang knows how to do it. Maybe he can chime in here. Keyplayer--haven't seen you around since our DA7 days. Good to see you. Brad

| You didn't answer my question. Are you trying to put the samples in dynamic groups or positional groups?

| Drumagog 4.09 is a dream to work with, and it triggers fantastically. We have GOG disc available that works flawlessly with it. To make multisample GOG: Go to Samples Page, sub tab Groups, make a few dynamic velocity groups, then go to subtab Samples and start adding your samples, then assign them to the proper velocity group according to their actual velocity. Then by default, the GOG will play random multimsamples. Its pretty easy. If you go to our page you'll hear all the stuff we did there was with Drumagog. Its a great program.

As for positionally, I went down to that list with the cursor arrows that said 1- whatever number of groups were available and selected some clips to go to 1, others to 2, others to 3, etc. But when I watched the samples being triggered, I only showed activity in the first folder. Folders 2-4, in this case, showed no activity at all. So at this point I'll take any clear direction on the subject that you'd care to offer. THANKS!

Bang told you how to do the dynamic groups. You should make sure that you have at least 3 or 4 samples in each dynamic group. Drumagog will randomly play the samples from the appropriate group. I have found that having more multi-samples is more important than having more dynamic groups. You can really get away with just soft, medium and hard hits. Having 5 or 6 hits in each group is good. If you are going to bother with left and right hand hits, remember that it will trigger the left hand hits all the time until the playing gets faster. It triggers off the same algorhythm as the movie on the main page. If you go to the Drumagog website, you can download about 4 gig worth of samples, toms included. You can look at those gogs and see how the dynamic groups tend to be set up.

| Thanks a lot! One side question. What's up with the picture limitations in the Save section of the Samples Page? It will show photos of 2Kicks, 1 Snare and 1 Hat. But I couldn't find anything for toms when I was building my multi sample groups. So I just turned the photo to the led view. Why aren't there any Toms, or are there? If so, how do you load those "avatars?" |
