Noise from some old reverbs..

Hi,

I connected two old lexicon fx today, LXP-1 and LXP-5, and I get a constant buss on the return channels. Are these units that noisy or is it something wrong ?

Anyone here using LXP-1 and/or LXP-5 ?

Cheers,

HÃ¥vard

The LXP-1 gets the 'dirty pots thing going.
Other than that, if you're hearing 'buzzy-chirppy hash sounds-like high-gain radio aimed at deep space' sounds in the background...
get the levels up.

They are all over my control room!!

What do you mean by "the `dirty pots thing going" ? Because when I touch the program pot, on the LXP-1 and the LXP-5, the noise is gone for a second or two.. Do I need to replace/fix them ?

Thanks!

I had the input, mix and output pots done on my LXP-1 (don't remember if the others were included?), but if I recall it was fairly common.
Are you sure it's the program pot that's making the noise? Also, after you alter a program's default settings the led stops blinking. Some times I'd see it start up again which I presume might point to the program shifting back. (The pot?
Often it seems vigorously 'exercising can settle things down for a time too.
