DAW: easiest/fastest way match up tempos of an acapella & instrumental?

In a DAW what is the easiest/fastest way match up tempos of an acapella & instrumental using time compress-exp/pitch shifting or whatever tools r available?

timestretch/compress one to fit the other.

There are lots of different ways to do this.......tell us what tools you have available and someone'll tell you the best way to do it.

Even if you timestretch the acapella to the right tempo you still might get small tempo variations in the vocals because of the timstretch algorithm. Then you have to move stuff around and listen until it sounds right. Depends on how "tight" you want the vocal to be.

For this I am using Samplitude 7.2 I assume first I have to figure out the tempos of each by highliting start to end point & using grid?

I would suggest Melodyne as being the easiest, fastest most effective solution.
By detecting the individual notes, they will be appropriatley shifted (stretched,squeezed,pitch-shifted, audio quantised) as opposed to beat/phrase-based adjustment.
I've often used DP for time stretch stuff and its pretty good, also got Sam 7.21 but Melodyne…
