can anyone tell me?:.....when you press down on a wah-wah pedal (like a Cry Baby), does the filter open or close?

I don't know if this is a trick question but I'll jump in anyway When you press down the filter opens - and don't forget to open your mouth in sync with pressing - we guitar players have an unwritten code of conduct about this: it must ALWAYS be done... |

cheers....i'm trying to use my Andromeda as a rather large wah-wah pedal......i've hooked up a CV pedal to it (it has external inputs to its filters)...... .....anyone know what kind of filters wah-wah pedals use.......bandpass?.....frequencies?... (will try the mouth open in sync technique ASAP) |

the wah wah sounds more like a peaking band pass filter than anything else so i guess a resonant band pass with your andromeda will do the trick, the sweep might be too broad to accurately emulate a wah wah, maybe you might need to limit the range of the sweep...

A wah pedal uses a band pass filter. as far as i know the q setting remains constant - im doing a bit of dsp etc at the moment and looked a small bit already into things like this - like mario said limit the range of the sweep, tweek a bit of resonance and you shouldn,t be far off. "can anyone tell me?:.....when you press down on a wah-wah pedal (like a Cry Baby), does the filter open or close?" Far as i can remember... like i said. down is swept forward not wider.. anyone knows otherwise fill me in!! |

Definitely. Mashing it all the way down with your foot can yield frequencies that will make a dog's head explode. ... oh to be back to the nights on stage in college covering Voodoo Chile (slight return). |

So If Jazzious II programs his Andromeda to sweep, does he still have to move his mouth? Just use a parametric EQ and sweep between arround 250hz-2.5khz or so.
