........wow, i really enjoy the new "Brand New" Album: "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me". I love the overall sound of the record, very roomy drums and great guitar sounds.....finally an indie "EMO"- Band with an own sound...... Has any Gearslut participated in the making of the Album? greetings alex |

It was produced by Mike Sapone, I've emailed him to see if he'd like to comment about the record. Hopefully, he will! http://www.saponetrax.com/

I've listened to the record a few times (just got it on Sunday), and I hear some crazy overdubs on the vocals. On some places, it sounds like at least 4 or 5 vocal tracks, and I'm just talking about the lead vocal. Maybe a couple of regular 'singing' vocal takes, then a couple of spoken/whispered takes. Lots of cool production surprises, keeps you listening. Love the choir thing, too, totally caught me off guard! |
