Buy a UPS instead. They offer the same surge protection/regulation with the added battery backup. I run my whole control room on one and it works great.

APC makes plenty of ups's. I'm talking about this unit for surge protection.

No I don't have a ups but that wasn't my question. The dedicated surge unit have a higher Joule rating than most UPS's unless you get into really high dollar units.
