Using Rewire with Internal Audio on a macbook

I've been bringing my macbook to work, as its been slow lately, and messin with Reason (version 3.0.5). Everything works just fine. I don't have my Fireface with me so obviously I have to just use the internal audio card on the macbook. Which brings me to my question:

When I attempt to set things up in Rewire mode it won't work. I open Logic first, then Reason. It gives me an error message stating "Can not open Reason engine. Please reinstall to make sure the Reason Engine is properly installed"

I've reinstalled a couple of times to no avail. Plus Reason works fine as a standalone. Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

Is the internal audio processor on the macbook not capable of handing rewired apps?
